Fresh-Faced February: Too Faced Eyes and Lips Review

Hello, cuties! Welcome to the final installment of Fresh-Faced February! This post is all about the two most important, make-or-break factors of one's makeup: eyeliner and lips. If I'm being honest, this is also kind of a miscellaneous post because I wasn't sure where to include these products in my previous posts. But it worked out, so here they are now! Cominatcha! Watch out!

The first product I have for you is the Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eye Liner.

When I first uncapped this eyeliner and saw its soft consistency, I thought there was no way it'd work for me. (Soft pencil eyeliners tend to wear off faster.) After I swatched it on my hand, I was amazed. Not only was it incredibly black and pigmented, but I couldn't get it off my hand for the life of me. It was stuck on! Even after I scrubbed my hand with soap, it barely budged.

Overall I'd give it a 10/10, would recommend! There is a swatch of the eyeliner a couple pictures down,

The second and final product of today's post is the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick. Try saying that three times fast!

I have this lipstick in the shade Melted Chihuahua.

It's a gorgeous, browny pink. If you don't like this color, don't worry: there are about 15 others to choose from!

I love the fuzzy doe foot applicator. It makes the application so fun and natural looking! I'm a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding in August, and I'm torn between this color and the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in shade 38. That's how much I like it!

I'd definitely reccommend this product if you're a lip product lover. They have plenty of colors and they feel great.

Those are the final products of Fresh-Faced February! I hope you enjoyed this series. Let me know if you'd like to see me do anything similar in the future!

Until next time,

Fresh-Faced February: Too Faced Natural Matte Eye Shadow Palette Review

First, we talked about skin care; second, we talked about base makeup; now, we're talking about the eyes.

Today, I'm here to tell you about my favorite eyeshadow palette.

I now introduce to you, the Too Faced Natural Matte Eye Shadow Palette.

This is the swanky box the palette came in. It's matte, just like the shadows! Well, matte except for the gorgeous gold detailing. But hey, I'm not complainin'!

How cute is this detail?!

Here it is: the palette of the hour!

First off, I say yes to this packaging.

There are 9 shadows in total, and they are separated into 3 looks: Day, Classic, and Fashion. I don't always follow alone with these suggestions, but I like having a foolproof trio waiting for me!

The daytime shadows include some of the coolest-toned browns of the collection.

The shadows are so pigmented. They don't have a scent, which I'm kind of bummed about. But other than the, everything I ever wanted!

These are the 3 base colors in the palette. From left to right, we have Heaven, Lace Teddy, and Nudie. Heaven is for the Day look, Lace Teddy is for the Classy look, and Nudie is for the Fashion look.

Here we have the 3 crease colors. From left to right, the colors are Cashmere Bunny, Strapless, and Honey Butter.

Lastly, we have the 3 liner/even deeper crease colors. Looking back on these pictures, I have no idea what the far left color is. Maybe I blacked out when I was doing the swatches, but that definitely isn't Sexpresso! Sexpresso is a deep, dark brown; probably the darkest in the palette. The other two colors, though, are Risque and Chocolate Cookie.

This is the look I created using the shadows Heaven, Cashmere Bunny, and Sexpresso: the Day trio.

I also made a video of me recreating this look (withouth the liner) on YouTube.

Check it out!

That's it for today's post. I hope you enjoyed this short little review! I'll see you soon for the last installment of Fresh-Faced February!

Until then,

Fresh-Faced February: Benefit Real Cheeky Party Palette Review

Hello, my good ol' friends! How are you today?! Welcome to the second installment of Fresh-Faced February!

In this post, I am going to be reviewing my fresh new Benefit Real Cheeky Party Palette! If you didn't get the pun in the title, it's basically a palette for your "cheeks". I say it with the quotes because although it claims to be a cheek palette, there is a lot more to it. The blushes are accompanied by bonus products such as a bronzer, a highlighter, an eyeliner, and a mascara. There's a lot more to the palette than it gets credited for. Look at Benefit, being all modest and humble!

Anyway, let's get on with the review!

The interior is just as pretty!

And then it was revealed.

COULD THIS GET ANYMORE GORGEOUS?

The first thing I noticed about these products - besides their beauty - was their smell. All of the products in this palette except the eyeliner and mascara have the same, artificial candy scent.

Even though the smell isn't the most pleasant, we all know not to judge a book by its scent! It's (what it makes you look like) on the outside that counts. Anyway, let's get started!

Dandelion Brightening Blush

This is the lightest of the four blushes. It's great for a quick brighten-up and looks lovely on people with fair skin! I believe this would make for a great glowy highlighter on people with a darker complexion.

Rockateur Rose Gold Blush
(left)

As you can see, it is the darkest of the blushes. This blush is perfect for a night out, but makes a spectacular everyday blush for people of darker skin. I love to wear this blush went I go somewhere spectacular! However, I would not recommend this for someone with a cool skin tone.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Sugarbomb Shimmering Blush

I have to say, although this blush looks the weirdest and scariest of the bunch, it is definitely my favorite. I looks so natural! I suits literally every skin tone, light or dark.

These are 3 of the 4 blushes. From left to right: Dandelion, Rockateur, and Sugarbomb.

Watt's Up! Cream Highlighter

This highlighter is the bomb biggity. I'm sorry, I had to say it. The glittery illumination is so fine and so even. It gives a needed 'umph' to your makeup and makes you look extra youthful and gorgeous! I recommend putting this on before you powder your face. If you do it in the opposite order, it might turn out a little funny.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hoola Matte Bronzer

This is the perfect everyday bronzer! My normal everyday makeup routine (as found on YouTube here) consists of only lashes and brows. For the days where I'm feeling extra crazy, I'll add a little sun kissed glow to the mix using this product. I find that this bronzer gives me the perfect faux tan while not looking over orange. Its slight lack of warmth also makes is great for contouring. What more could you ask for?
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

CORALista Blush

This blush has a slight orangey (coral) tone, and it looks great on people with warm complexions. This coral beauty is the perfect way to incorporate a little funkiness into your makeup while still looking absolutely ravishing, my dear! This is probably my second favorite of the bunch.

On the left is a swatch of the Hoola bronzer, and on the right is the CORALista blush!

Finally, the eyes.

They're Real! Push-Up Liner

I can't do eyeliner to save my life. No matter how I try do to liner, it never turns out how I envision it. I put the majority go the blame on the fact that my face is completely asymmetrical, but I acknowledge that part of my failure falls on my own shoulders. I have never been one for the classic feline flick, as I can never get it perfectly right. Yet this eyeliner was able to help me slightly.

The shape of this applicator is aimed to aid in the perfection of said flick, but it was just another trial and mostly error for me. I can see this being great for hardcore eyeliner artists, or people who love a precise cat eye, but I am not on of those people.

As far as the staying power goes, I was very impressed! It stayed on like today's business, so make sure you get it right the first time!

I would recommend this product for people who aim for feline purrrfection, but for smudgy girls like myself, this is not the product for you.

They're Real! Mascara

Before school everyday, I apply my mascara. I do this at about 6:40am every morning. After a 7-hour school day, a 9-hour interim, and a full night's sleep, my mascara application was still perfectly intact. So intact, in fact, that I ended up wearing that same application - no top-ups - for 2 full days. WITH A 6 AND A HALF HOUR SLEEP IN BETWEEN. There was little to no crumbling, and absolutely no smudging. And that's coming from someone with oily 'eye areas'. You may think this is disgusting, and I agree with you. This mascara is the real deal; I cannot talk more highly of this product.

The applicator doesn't look that much different compared to any other brush, but something about it is unlike any mascara I've ever tried. It actually works!

This was the look I created using the Hoola bronzer, the Rockateur blush, the Watt's Up! highlighter, the Push-Up liner and the They're Real! mascara.

Those were all of the products the palette! I hope you enjoyed this post. I know I did!

I'll see you in my next post for another fresh makeup review! I love you all!

Fresh-Faced February: My Favorite Skin Care Products

Hello, my lovely friends! How are you all today?! Welcome to the first day of the new month, which means the first installment of my new series, Fresh-Faced February! In my next few posts, I will be talking you through some of my fresh, new skincare/makeup products and how to give your face a fresh start for the new year.

Now before one can do their makeup, they must start with a clean face. Before I set you loose on some of the makeup items I've been loving, I thought I'd talk you through some of the skin care products I've been loving! (This is where the 'Fresh-Faced' part comes in!)

The Formula 10.0.6 skincare brand was lovely enough to send me 10 products from their collection. Can you believe that?! I still can't! Today, I am going to tell you about all the products and why I love them so much.

I'm going to review the products in the order in which I would use them so you can get a better feel of my routine.

Wipe Your Face Off Make-Up Removing Facial Wipes

Whenever I wear heavy makeup, the first product in my skin care/makeup removal routine is face wipes! Formula 10.0.6 kindly sent me two packages of their facial wipes. These wipes have a very light scent. Although it says the smell is passionfruit and apple, I'm getting more of an appley tone. However, I am not complaining because apple is my favorite scent of all time!

After using 2 wipes, all of my makeup was visibly removed. Even my mascara! I was incredibly surprised by how powerful yet gentle these wipes are. I was really getting into my lashes and it didn't irritate my eyes in the slightest. Also, they didn't leave my skin feeling incredibly dry or covered in gunk. I was very pleased!

I never use only face wipes in my makeup removal routine. However, I know that after a long, tiring night, the last thing someone would want to do is their whole skin care regime. In this case, these face wipes are the ones for you! Although on the package it says there's no need to rinse afterwards, I don't think one should ever leave residue from makeup wipes on their skin. To avoid this, rinse and moisturize afterwards, if you have the time or energy! Especially if you have dry skin.

Keep Me Clean Clarifying Facial Wipes

These wipes are pretty identical to the ones above, except the scent and the purpose differs. The facial wipes above aimed to remove your makeup, while these Keep Me Clean Clarifying Facial Wipes aim to clarify. Duh! Also, the witch hazel present in these wipes helps to tone the skin.

Similar to the Wipe Your Face Off Make-Up Removing wipes, the wipes in this package do not irritate my skin or eyes, nor do they leave behind any residue. I absolutely love them!

The scent of these wipes is very fresh, and although it doesn't claim to, these wipes work just as well to remove makeup. I would personally buy these wipes over the makeup-removing facial wipes, but that is only because I do not wear that much makeup. I love them both!

The lovely people at 10.0.6 also sent me a couple of these cute lookin' cleansers! I was so excited when I saw these. I've never had anything like them before. How pretty are they?!

So Totally Clean Deep Pore Cleanser: Original Formula

The first cleanser I tried was the So Totally Clean Deep Pore Cleanser: Original Formula. The first thing I noticed about this product was that it has a very strong scent. However, the scent didn't throw me off one bit.

This product really did help to reduce the appearance of my blemishes, and although it doesn't advertise it on the bottle, it got all of my makeup off like a rockstar. It can burn quite a lot if it gets near your eyes, so be careful!

To use this product, I squirt the cleanser on a cotton wool ball and rub it over my face, AVOIDING MY EYES. If you are going to use this, make sure to wash it off with a warm cloth and follow up your skin care regime with moisturizer. The ingredients in this product are very strong and drying, and you wouldn't want them sitting on your skin! If I use this product, I tend to skip on the makeup wipes. There's really no need for both, unless you're wearing a lot of makeup or you just really want to!

So Totally Clean Everyday Cleanser: Sensitive Formula

The second cleanser I was gifted was the So Totally Clean Everyday Cleanser: Sensitive Formula. This cleanser is a lot less harsh than it's orange counterpart. Rather than helping to fight acne, this blue beauty simply aims to cleanse. For those of you who aren't very prone to acne, this cleanser is the one for you!

I use this cleanser the same way as I use it's orange sister: a cotton wool ball to the face. As I said above, if I were you, I wouldn't leave this product sitting on my skin. I would personally rinse it off and follow it with an actual cleanser.

Best Face Forward Daily Foaming Cleanser

If I didn't have enough cleansers already, I got one more! This cleanser comes out as clear gel, and it smells ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The product foams up well and leaves no residue on my face. It just works!

To use this cleanser, I take a dime sized amount and smooth it over my face. I then use my Clarisonic to work it into my skin.

Three Times Sublime 3 in 1 Blackhead Wash + Scrub + Mask

This is the Three Times Sublime wonder product, and It. Is. Great. This multitasking product has the power to cleanse, exfoliate, and be a face mask. Although it claims to be a face wash, I believe it works more on the exfoliator/mask side of things. It has a rough, grainy texture which I really love, and which always search for in exfoliants. When the product dries, it turns into a face mask. How cool is that?! Not to mention it smells like greatness.

I use this scrub after I cleanse my skin. I exfoliate with it and let it sit until it dries, then I wash it off with a warm cloth. It leaves my skin feeling soft and rejuvenated!

Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mud Mask

This mask is absolutely fantastic. It's a kaolin clay mask that works to draw out impurities and detox your skin. It applies smoothly and evenly, and it smells of strawberries. IT'S FREAKIN' GREAT! For those of you who are wondering (I know I was), yarrow is a super cute flowering plant!

To use this, I take a big ol' amount of the product, smooth it over my face, AVOIDING MY EYES, and wait for it to dry. After it dries, I wipe it off with a warm, damp cloth and follow up with a moisturizer. Always moisturize after your mask!

Get Your Glow On Skin-Brightening Peel Mask

THIS IS SO COOL. For those of you who aren't familiar with a peel-off mask, it's basically a mask that you slather on your face, and when it sets, it forms a second skin which you then peel off. Get Your Glow On Skin-Brightening Peel Mask in particular smells of citrus, and I wish they would make a candle out of it. This mask makes such a wonderful addition to one's pamper routine. It's extremely fun to peel off, and it leaves your skin feeling really moisturized! I'm not sure how well it works to actually brighten your skin, but it's fun either way!

Unlike the clay mask, I use this mask after my exfoliator and before my moisturizer.

Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil-Free Moisturizer

This is one of the two moisturizers that Formula 10.0.6 has kindly sent me. I don't have very oily skin, so I decided to give this moisturizer to Matt (my boyfriend) who has a more oily complexion than I do. Here's what he sad to say about it!

"The 10.0.6 moisturizer lived up to what it says on the bottle. I'm shine free and it smells and feels good!"

When I asked him to elaborate on the product, he told me it smells like leaves and that it has the consistency of ointment. I don't know why that cracks me up so much, but it does. Who knew leaves and ointment could be so enjoyable?!

Picture Perfect Day Daily Moisturizer

The second moisturizer I was gifted was the Picture Perfect Day Daily Moisturizer. My first impression of this product was that it smells quite strange, like guava mixed with a bad sunscreen. When it comes to consistency, it is very thick yet it doesn't take much to coat your entire face.

I am writing this review from the P.O.V. of someone with combination skin. Normally, the skin on my nose and t-zone tends to get severely dry, yet those are the areas that become the shiniest. After applying 2 coats of moisturizer, I was left feeling sticky and shiny. However, I no longer had dry patches on my nose or forehead. I believe this was due to the sticky feeling, whatever may have caused that. I easily got rid of the shine by using toilet paper and dabbing my nose an forehead to remove the access oil.

If you have oily skin, I suggest you purchase the other moisturizer. However, if you have dry skin or are looking for and overnight face cream, this would be perfect for you! It truly gets the job done.

THANK YOU SO MUCH to the Formula 10.0.6 brand for sending me all of these gorgeous products! I really do love all of these products, and I wouldn't be writing so highly of them if I didn't!

That's it for the first post of Fresh-Faced February! I will (hopefully) see you all next week for another FFF post! Stay tuned!
